Undermanned Warriors secure upset win over Cavs image
The undermanned Golden State Warriors stunned the Cleveland Cavaliers with a gritty 99-94 upset in their 2025-26 NBA regular-season encounter on Sunday morning (PH time) at Rocket Arena.

The Warriors secured the win despite playing without Stephen Curry (quad) and Jimmy Butler (knee).

Undrafted guard Pat Spencer led the charge with 19 points and 7 assists. Veteran Buddy Hield added 13 points and 7 rebounds.

Golden State held a 72-62 lead entering the fourth quarter. Donovan Mitchell briefly brought his team within striking distance, but Spencer immediately responded with back-to-back triples to push the lead back up to 88-77 midway through the final frame.

In the final minute, Cleveland narrowed the gap to 96-94 after a one made free throw by Darius Garland.

However, Mitchell's potential game-tying three-pointer bounced off with seven seconds left, allowing the Warriors to run the clock out.

The Warriors, now 12-12, face the Chicago Bulls tomorrow. The Cavaliers (14-11) will look to bounce back against the Washington Wizards on Saturday.

The Cavaliers have proven through their own performance that without LeBron, they have always been just a fake powerhouse

Maybe Curry, Draymond Green, and Butler should step aside.

Basketball Note
The Cavaliers have the highest luxury tax in the entire league. If this roster can only achieve this ranking in the Eastern Conference, it doesn't have much of a future.
