LeBron James relishes first 20-point game of the season

LeBron James is slowly getting back into form in his third game of the season.
In his unprecedented 23rd NBA season, the 40-year-old superstar scored 25 points as the Lakers pulled away for a 135-118 victory over the Clippers in their Battle of Los Angeles NBA Cup matchup on Wednesday (PH time) at Crypto.com Arena.
It marked James’ first 20-point outing of the season after missing the Lakers’ first 14 games due to a sciatica injury. In his season debut on Nov. 19, James scored 11 points but compensated with 12 assists in the Lakers’ 140-126 win over the Utah Jazz.
He then increased his scoring output to 17 points in the Lakers’ back-to-back victory against Utah on Monday.
“Like I said, every game I’m going to get better and better. Today was better than the last game in Utah, and obviously it was better than a week ago, my first game here," James said after the game.
"So every game, every day, I continue to work on my body, continue to work on my wind, continue to work on my habits, the good habits, to put myself in a position to be helpful for the team.”
James proved he is still among the league’s best, even while sharing the scoring load with Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves. In the matchup against the Clippers,
Doncic led all scorers with 43 points, while Reaves added 31. The trio combined for an impressive 99 points, powering the Lakers to victory. James is confident their elite chemistry will continue into Saturday’s game against the Dallas Mavericks.
"Yeah, it’s easy, it’s easy. We’ve been together, we’ve played in so many games together, so many minutes, so many situations, that we know where we are at times without even looking," he said.
"Having that chemistry filter through the rest of our team, we’re playing some really good ball right now. We hope to continue that on Friday.”
