The Oklahoma City Thunder flexed their might in a dominant 138-89 victory over the Phoenix Suns in their 2025 NBA Cup quarterfinal matchup on Thursday morning (PH time) at Paycom Center.

With the win, the Thunder booked their ticket to the semifinals of the in-season tournament in Las Vegas.

MVP candidate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander powered Oklahoma City with 28 points and 8 assists, while Chet Holmgren delivered a huge performance of his own with 24 markers and 8 rebounds.

The Suns never stood a chance with All-Star guard Devin Booker sidelined due to a groin injury, and Oklahoma City wasted no time pouncing.

The Thunder rolled early, building a massive 74-48 lead at halftime before stretching the advantage to as many as 53 points in the second half.

OKC will now head to Sin City for a semifinal showdown against the winner of the Los Angeles Lakers–San Antonio Spurs matchup on Monday.

The Thunder not only has good defense, but also everyone can shoot, which is really terrifying!

Maybe the Lakers-Spurs game should be called off. Together, they probably can't beat the Thunder.
