The Oklahoma City Thunder maintained their hold atop the Western Conference standings after notching their sixth straight victory to open the 2025–2026 NBA season, defeating the Washington Wizards, 127–108, on Friday morning (Manila time).

Reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander once again led the charge, putting up 31 points and seven assists in another stellar performance that underscored his dominance early in the season.

Returning guard Isaiah Joe added 20 points, while big man Isaiah Hartenstein, who received the Bob Lanier Community Assist Award before tip-off delivered an all-around effort with 17 points, eight rebounds, and five assists.

For Washington, CJ McCollum paced the team in scoring with 19 points, while Bilal Coulibaly, making his return from injury, contributed 16 points, eight rebounds, and four assists. Despite their efforts, the Wizards fell to their third consecutive loss.
