Trail Blazers shock Lakers with convincing 122-108 victory image
The Portland Trail Blazers delivered a statement win on the road, stunning the Los Angeles Lakers 122-108 at the Crypto.com Arena. The victory marks Portland’s second win in four games to kick off the new NBA season.
 
Deni Avdija led the charge with 25 points, while Jrue Holiday added 24, combining for 49 points to propel the Blazers. Jerami Grant also contributed a strong performance with 22 points.
 
The game opened as a back-and-forth battle, but the Lakers’ last lead came in the second quarter. From there, Portland surged ahead, building a lead that extended as high as 18 points. Despite the push, Los Angeles was unable to close the gap, coming no closer than six points in the second half.
 
Austin Reaves had another standout night for the Lakers, posting 41 points, following his career-high 51 points against the Sacramento Kings just one night prior.
 
Both teams now sit at 2-2 in the young season. Portland will travel to face the Utah Jazz, while the Lakers will also take the road to play the Minnesota Timberwolves this Thursday.
