The Los Angeles Lakers headed into the halftime interval with a 54-51 lead over the Houston Rockets in Game 2 of their first-round series in the 2026 Western Conference Playoffs on Wednesday (PH time) at Crypto.com Arena.
Kevin Durant and LeBron James put on a show in their latest playoff meeting, scoring 20 and 14 points, respectively, in the first half.
The Lakers got off to a strong start, building a 33-26 lead after the first quarter. Marcus Smart and Luke Kennard powered LA's offense during that period, scoring 14 and 10 points, respectively.

The pair was sizzling from beyond the arc, shooting a combined 5-for-7 from 3-point range.
The Lakers continued to pile on the pressure in the second quarter, starting the period with a 16-8 run to extend their lead to 15 points. The Rockets came roaring back, though, unleashing a 14-0 run to cut the deficit to one point at 48-49.
The Lakers responded with a 5-0 run to hold on to their lead at the half.
